The Fair
The world’s leading jewellery trade fair
The history of the Vicenza Fair goes hand in hand with that of the city, as it reflects its periods of expansion. Beginning even before the 18th century, in a rudimentary form, today the Fiera di Vicenza has become known throughout the world as an international leader in the goldsmithing and jewellery sectors.
Its history
Perhaps not everyone is aware that around Piazza dei Signori, in the late 17th century, some of the very first free fairs were held.
The Vicenza Fair proper, however, came into being in the immediate post-war period, when the Salvi Gardens, having just been renovated, hosted the pavilions of the Trade Fair.
Its ever-growing prestige and importance led to the decision in 1972 to find a larger and more suitable venue in Via dell’Oreficeria, the city’s industrial area, where it is still located today.
New for 2014
In 2014, the new pavilion was unveiled, and it is set to make a name for itself.
Due to its design, it has no central pillars, offering 15,000 square metres of completely unobstructed space, ideal for hosting events, concerts, shows and large meetings.
